Looks stunning on a black glass stand. There is something solid and reliable in that corner of the room as soon as you walk in. Overall performance of the TV is excellent.

3 HDMIs rocks, 24p rocks, 1080p rocks. The ability to tweak lots of settings rocks. Basically this is a fantastic TV.

The menus are the same style Sony have been using for some years, especially the Freeview EPG. The EPG is a real pain to use because it doesn't show full titles for programs with long names (or short timeslots)

Bravia Engine, Sound Quality, 1080p Full HD, Design.

Great looks, and excellent HD performance with enough connection options to please anyone. Best 1080p set i could find in this price range. PS3 and Blue rays look stunning well worth a look

Standard def pictures can be a bit hit and miss depends on the source,and the sound is a little disappointing but no worse than most other LCD screens

The picture is simply stunning compared to my old crt television, The colours seem so natural plus the bravia engine removes all the video noise making even SD tv look awesome. Getting the best picture was really easy, there are enough option the satisfy anyone.

The TV is a magnet for dust, Sony please make them in black matt!! Shiny TV bezels require far too much dusting. I'd also like to point out that having speakers under the unit reduces the affect of the front surround sound. With LCDs being so thin the speakers lack the deep bass of the ones in good quality CRTs.

Excellent picture quality when connected to a PS3 which automatically upscales DVDs to 1080p. Blue ray films look spectacular with breath taking clarity, detail, and colour also at 1080p. Freeview is above average, not perfect, but viewable from about 10 feet away definately better than most other LCDs I have viewed. Black glossy finish looks wonderful. 3 HDMI ports 2 at the rear and 1 on the side is very useful.

Sound quality from the stereo speakers built in aren't that powerful.

Hi def material is very clear., have not got a blu ray disc to test hi def in depth. good for mps3 and xbox 360 consoles. Though you would definitely need a hdmi lead for ps3 as standard leads are not hi def compatible. The white levels are very good and the screen can go really bright, which is a good thing as normal lcd's dim over time.

Tv had obviously been open before. Both polystyrene top sections were on same side of the box. you would need to sit well back to not notice the blocking and blurriness on standard definition material. not really many options for setting picture and sound. Black levels are not as good as i expected.

i have a sony 26" s. series about 2 years old which is outstanding, so when i wanted to upsize to 40" other makes just didnot compare to sony, the build quality is first class and oozes style.

A real pain to put up - sure this is the same for all TVs but seemed particularly heavy and troublesome Plus why is the on/off button right at the top!? I can't reach it as it is quite high on our wall

Picture and sound quality is good. HDMI socket on the side is ideal once wall mounted.

It's quite deep so stands off the wall quite a bit. And the virtual surround sound needs turning on as it isn't on as standard when purchased.

Very attractive looking LCD. Excellent picture on standard definition. Superb picture on upscalled DVD's, you could almost believe they were HD. Haven't tried true HD content as yet, but being a 1080P LCD I would bet that it is superb.

None that I can find as yet, and i have looked very hard for them.

(NEUTRAL POINT) Some of the older created programmes screened over standard digital are noticeable poor quality. The programmes recently created are reproduced superbly, hence why this is a neutral point as this is the broadcast quality. (NEUTRAL POINT) The screen gets very dusty very quickly, and is very noticeable on the Black finish, would recommend buying a good screen cleaner when purchasing this item, if your abit of a clean freak like myself.

outer frame is glossy and looks so beautiful and obviously sony picture quality.

It's excellent in every aspect that you need a tv for.Great for movies and just perfect for watching football. We don't go out as much since we bought this fantastic television!!!

Excellent HD picture quality, full 1080p, simple clean design, good picture with standard definition images, easy to set up, great value for money.

Sound quality could be better - I'd suggest if you go for this product then get a home cinema system

Excellent value for a premium name in TV's. All features impress. The only thing not mup to scratch is the quality of the terrestrial signal or non-HD satellite channels. That is only the limitations on the network nothing to do with the TV. Highly recommended.

Superb HD picture from cable HD broadcast via HDMI inputs. Standard cable broadcasts still excellent on this TV, but after seeing high def you can't go back!

Not enough high def transmissions to really see the benefit yet - will really appreciate this TV when more HD broadcasts are available.

This product needs a booster to receive some BBC programmes, but this might be because of weather condition.

Comparing this TV against other similar makes/models you would be hard pushed to find anything which offers better value for money

Cheap 1080p TV

Nice, clean design, good build quality, well designed remote, logical menu system, excellent HD picture, good SD picture and built in freeview, brilliant sound and a well respected brand.

Buttons on top are temperamental (sometimes stop working when TV is hot), 1080p through HDMI only (not through VGA nor component).

Excellent design. Excellent colours. PS3 and Blu-Ray movies look amazing. Good connectivity. Easy to setup and use. Great surround sound from just the two built in speakers.

Although surround sound effect is great the sound took a bit of tweaking to get just right for me personally. Not enough (hardly any) bass from the built in speakers. Although sound gets much better when volume is turned up for movies/games.

i am going deaf and wear hearing aids other tvs the sound is distorted i can hear this one better than any other plus the picture is excellent we have a ps3 and the graphics on this is brilliant i totaly recomend this and your price was very good thankyou

THIRD HDMI SOCKET IS ON THE SIDE,OK IF YOU PLUG IN CAMCORDER OCCASIONALLY,BUT WIRE IS ON SHOW IF COMPONENT IS PLUGGED IN ALL THE TIME.

Brilliant product with a proven history. Full 1080p is really worth the difference.

To get full set up you need to check the forums as theres so many options in getting the setup right.Its definitely worthwhile taking the time otherwise you could have a dodgy picture for a while.
