weight to power ratio is good. auto re-wind of cable is excellent. Ease to empty is excellent.
Though ok for picking up dog hair, we now need to buy the other head with rollers to really get the pick up we like on the Dyson upright.

It really sucks, compact for storage and good range of attachments. The telescopic arm is very versatile.
Still requires me to be attached to it.

I am very tall, and the telescopic wand bit is definitely considerably longer than my old Dyson (DC02), so I don't have to stoop at all now. I have two big fluffy ginger cats, who shed a lot!! Very impressed with my Animal Dyson - excellent at making my carpet blue again, instead of ginger!! I have already recommended this product to several of my friends!
Can't think of any really. Maybe it would be handy if the mini turbine brush, was as movable and flexible as the large turbine brush. But that is only a minor point. I am extremely happy with my new Dyson and I hope it lasts as long as my original Dyon did (just over ten years!)

I like the wrap - around design makes it so much easier to store. It`s very light to use and excellent suction especially if you have pets. Comes with a good range of tools and has easy on - board storage.
It doesn`t reach to the top of the stairs. You have to balance it on the stair which I find a bit dangerous.

Having a house with 2 dogs and a cat not to mention a husband and a teenager son to keep clean, i must say that the the Dyno animal makes a really good job of it.

extremely easy to use, neat and compact, very powerful, turbo brush invaluable to pet owners
can't think of any!

Tom, Gloucester, “longhaired dog owner”
Excellent cleaning, easy to store, easy to empty and light enough to carry upstairs. Works great on dog hairs.
No on board storage for the extra tools, can sometimes be akward to pull around

It picks up pet fur very well. The turbo brushes are great on the stair in particular. Its very compact when folded up.
Its expensive compared to other cleaners.

Power: This vacuum cleaner is one of the most powerful we've had - when we first received it we vacuumed once with our 2-year old Miele compact, then went over the same carpet with the Dyson and were shocked (and pleased) with how much extra it pulled out. Form: The Dyson DC20 Animal is great where space is limited, as it wraps round into a very small space for storing in the bottom of a cupboard. The cable rewind is easy to use and it stores some of the smaller tools on board too.
Form: The plus points about the small size leads to a slight niggle, in that you do have to wrap it all up to put it away - but a small issue considering all the plus points. Price: It is more expensive than many compact vacuum cleaners, but then you get what you pay for, so if you can afford this you won't be disappointed.

Easy to empty and has large capacity cylinder. Power head is excellent at picking up dirt and fluff. We don't have pets but this does a fantastic job of the carpets. Small turbo head is excellent for doing the stairs. The machine folds away nice and compact, except for the turbe heads.
Price - its quite expensive but you are paying for a very good product.

IT DOES NOT LOOSE POWER AT ALL. IT IS EASY TO PULL AROUND AND FANTASTIC ON STAIRS.
IT COULD BE QUIETER!!

it really does pick up pet hair, and it doesnt lose suction due to clogged filters how ever long you take to vacuum your house.
attachments are bit bulky and awkward to manage until you get used to them

Neat and compact. Good suction.
A little on the heavy side.

The suction power is excellent we live in the country with leaves mud always getting in the house. Previous cleaners have struggled to keep the house in the pristine condition we expect The Dyson achieves that
Strggle to find any even our 20 year old son CAN USE IT !!!

This is my second Dyson, the first lasted nearly 10 years! I would recommend a Dyson to anyone. I picked the model for the "Hard floor tool" attachment which is great and makes fast work on laminate and floor boards.

neat with a number of accessories included. effective suction. visible collection box

I already had a dyson dc08 but i liked the way the new model stored all the tools on the main body which is a better design than b4 which was on the main hose...
Nothing at this point..

very small footprint stores away very compactly the handle extends a long way so there's no strain on your back it picks up cat hair like no other cleaner

I found it easy enough to keep tidy and light enough to take up and down stairs (but it would be easier for people who were unable to lift through age or ailment if it were lighter). I would have liked to have the rotating brush facility with the machine as I know this would be inaluable if you have a carpet pile which really attracts pet hairs. So I will have to invest further in this additional brush.
I can't really think of any but maybe it could be a little bit more secure when placed on stair tread.

It is really good at pecking up pet hair!

Stable and does the job well. Good design and the hose foldly neatly.
None so far.

The good points are that the hoover is capable of carrying all the tools you may need and use during using the applicance.
The bad points about the hoover would be that the pipe on it doesn't reach the top of my staircase, it doesn't sit on my staircase even though it's suppose to. The hoover even though it is a animal one, didn't pick up my house's cat hairs up, until i bought a mini turbo head for the applicance.

Everything about the product is good except that it is a little heavy when lifting but apart from that the overall performance of this product is excellent.
Quite Heavy

Andy, Stockton-on-tees
Outstanding power, the turbine head really gives carpets a good beating and raises the pile like it's new. The hard floor tool is fantastic - I can completely clear all dust, crumbs and fluff from my tiles and wood floor in seconds rather than minutes. Excellent telescopic pole really saves space, it now goes in an under-worktop kitchen cupboard rather than taking up a hall closet. Looks great too.
That i didn't upgrade to it sooner.

Excellent at dealing with dog hair. Recommended it to son and wife and they are also delighted with it
14 Aug 2008
Ands, Hertfordshire
This is the best vacum cleaner I have ever owned. The first time we vacumed the house we had to empty it 4 times. The handle is collapsable, so it is not falling around the cupboard like a normal vacum might. Turbo heads are excellent and give the carpet pile a good clean. Dyson sell accessory kits, but this vacum comes with excellent accessories, so I would advise not to buy any extras.
The bagless cyliner is small, and the max =imum fill line is reached easily. Vacum is a complete pleasure to use otherwise, and this is not a major issue.

Suction power, compact
Not able to carry all asessories with it.

all of the above
attatchments do not fix to unit. Perhaps an optional wall hanging bracket for the attachments would be a good idea.

Performance and slick design features.
The small attachments do not fit securely and the rigidity of the arm makes it hard to clean difficult spaces, such as the car.

Great suction- filled the cylinder twice on its 1st use & I thought my house was clean! Really good accessories- it does edges, crevices, upholstery & you can even dust with it. Also works well on all surfaces.
It is quite heavy to carry, but this is only a minor gripe.

Powerful suction, clear bowl to find objects accidentally sucked. Ease of emptying. Multiple attachments, particularly the brushes that make it very versatile for cleaning and dusting.
15 Feb 2008
Gin, London
- GREAT suction (picks up almost everything - didn't realise just how much dust the old vacuum cleaner had not picked up!) - Adjustable length of telescopic nozzle makes using it a pleasure (and suitable for people of all heights) - Attachments make it easy to use in almost any situation - Very compact making it easy to store in small spaces
- Some of the plastic parts look like they have stress-lines, but feel sturdy enough (not cracks)

Looks great and cleans well
Not very easy to use on stairs. The head provided was too flexible, so when picked up to go across stair or up another stair, was very floppy and unruly. needs a button to adjust.

a little noisier than last owned dyson.
telescopic arm needs a little more effort to fully extend than i would like.

Compact size. Performance.
Only point I would say is that to store the machine as shown the head must be removed.

easy to move around, good suction, good range of tools
all tools cant be stored on machine, flex a bit short
23 Apr 2008
John, Preston
Good choice for homes with both hard & soft flooring due to interchangable heads.
Dust container is a little fiddly as it has to be separated to empty it - unlike the upright model which has a hinged flap.

A very well thought out design which is exceptionally well carried through to construction. Feels durable and is generally a quality bit of cleaning kit!
When all attachments are in thier storage spaces, it has a larger footprint than other cylinder vacuum cleaners.

Small for storage, easy to empty, good selection tools and excellent suction. Strongly recomment to pet owners
Scared of damaging plastic clips (for emptying), quite heavy when doing stairs

Merry, Cambridgeshire, “pet owner”
It is small, but still very powerful. Easy to store and light to carry around
When hoovering a car, the hose is a bit awkward, and the flex could be a bit longer to help with this
12 May 2008

Good suction Compact Lightweight Range of tools
Telescopic attachment doesn't always stay out Some difficulty hoovering rugs due to lack of rigidity

The carpet cleaner head has become blocked up with cat hair but at least it is possible to unscrew the head allowing the cat hair to be removed.

Excellent at removing short animal hair, and good normal vacuum. Good set of accessories.
Long hair gets tangled round the brush bar, requiring daily manual removal. Brush bar slowed spinning after a few days, required dismantling ( easy clips), cleaning and re assembling.

It works! Suction is constant; emptying is easy; storage is satisfactory once the twiddly bits have been mastered. It works!
I don't particularly like the pipe emerging from the side instead of the rear.

having used a dyson upright for alot of years i cant find any good points in comparision
it is difficult to dismantle if you have a weakness in your fingers and cant grip to hold in the clips. It is timely if you want to just hoover up spills and overall i would go back to an upright if i had not just spent alot of money on this

EXCELLENT PRODUCT OVERALL, GOOD SUCTION GENERALLY EXCELLENT COMPACT STORAGE
DISAPPOINTING WHEN HOOVERING THE STAIRS - IT DOES NOT STRETCH TO THE FULL FLIGHT OF A STANDARD STAIRCASE, THIS MAKES ONE OF THE MOSE DIFFICULT JOBS MORE DIFFICULT-HAVING TO TANSPORT THE DYSON TO THE TOP OF THE FLIGHT OF STAIRS TO COMPLETE THE TASK.
